Advocacy is the core of ASH Ireland’s activities
Smokers are jokers… and those Faggots will kill ya…
ASH Ireland is a focused non-government organisation. Its activities are entirely geared towards reducing the impact of tobacco. Its main activity is advocacy, which centres on persuading other organisations, individuals and government to address varied tobacco related issues.
The nine-year advocacy campaign leading up to the recent workplace smoking legislation is an example of this work. ASH Ireland sees the continuing need to educate a range of audiences on the harmful effects of tobacco and tobacco industry practices.
ASH Ireland continuously informs and educates either by direct contact or by highlighting issues in the media. ASH Ireland promotes and supports research – and also highlights other international tobacco-related research. ASH Ireland builds and sustains relationships with other like-minded organisations both nationally and internationally – in order to maximise support and stay informed.
